About Lead Well
About lead well
lead well was created out of a belief that leadership is built through experience, connection, and care for the whole person.
Across sport, nonprofit work, and community spaces, people grow when they feel supported, challenged, and connected to something meaningful. Lead Well exists to create experiences that help individuals and organizations grow with intention, clarity, and purpose.
The work centers on people first, using thoughtful design, reflection, and connection to support leadership that lasts beyond a single program, event, or moment.

About the Founder
lead well is founded and led by Ashley Wear.
Ashley brings together a background in association and nonprofit leadership, event strategy, communications, and community engagement, along with decades of experience as an athlete and coach. She holds both the Certified Association Executive (CAE) and Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) credentials, reflecting a deep commitment to professional excellence in leadership, governance, and experience design.
Her work spans public service, nonprofit organizations, and member-driven communities, where she has led initiatives focused on engagement, growth, and long-term sustainability. Ashley is known for blending data-informed strategy with a strong understanding of human connection, ensuring that experiences are not only effective, but meaningful.
Alongside her professional work, Ashley has spent years coaching female athletes, supporting their growth both on and off the field. That dual perspective continues to shape how lead well approaches leadership development, community building, and experience design.
What Guides the Work
lead well is grounded in a belief that people are more than metrics, but that data and insight matter when they are used in service of a mission. The work is guided by a focus on:
-
Building connection and trust through shared experiences
-
Supporting leadership development that feels human and sustainable
-
Using data and feedback to inform growth and decision-making
-
Designing events, programs, and partnerships that align with purpose
-
Creating environments where people feel seen, valued, and engaged
Whether working with female athletes or mission-driven organizations, the goal is the same: to help people grow into confident leaders while strengthening the communities they are part of.
The Bigger Goal
At its core, lead well is about long-term impact and connection.
Beyond individual programs or events, the goal is to build a growing community of female athletes and leaders who feel connected to one another, supported in their growth, and confident in the value they bring to their teams, organizations, and communities.
Through shared experiences, conversation, and continued engagement, lead well aims to create spaces where athletes and leaders can learn from one another, build relationships, and stay connected beyond a single season, workshop, or event. Over time, this work is meant to:
-
Support individuals as they develop confidence and clarity
-
Create meaningful connections among female athletes and leaders
-
Strengthen organizations by fostering trust and engagement
-
Build a network rooted in shared values, experience, and purpose
-
Design experiences that bring people together in ways that truly matter
lead well is about planting seeds for leadership and community that continue to grow long after the experience itself has ended.
